The Lion And The Mouse
A lion slept under a tree.
Suddenly, a little mouse ran over his nose! The lion opened his eyes.
He roared loudly and caught the mouse with his paw. "You woke me up!" he growled. "I will eat you for this!"
The mouse shook and cried, "Please, great Lion! Let me go! One day, I will help you. I promise!"
The lion laughed. "How can you help me? You are tiny!"
But the lion felt kind. He lifted his paw and let the mouse go.

A few days later, the lion walked into a trap. A strong net pulled him up into the air!
He roared and kicked, but the net held tight. The lion felt scared. He roared again — louder and louder.
The little mouse heard him. He ran to the trap and bit the ropes. One by one, the ropes broke. The lion fell to the ground — free!
The lion looked at the mouse with wide eyes. "You saved me," he said.
The mouse smiled. "Even the smallest friend can be the biggest help."
