The Vietnamese Story of the Three Golden Trees

A poor boy lived with his mother. Their house was small. Their clothes were old. They often went to bed hungry.

One night, he heard his mother cry. The boy walked into the forest to find food. His feet hurt, and he felt weak. He sat on the ground and cried.

A bright fairy appeared! She said, "Take these three seeds. Plant them. Gold grows for kind hearts."

The boy ran home. He and his mother planted the seeds. They watered them and waited.

The next morning, three beautiful trees stood outside. The leaves were gold!

They sold some leaves to buy food and clothes. Soon, they built a small house. They shared gold with poor people in the village.

But greedy neighbors came. "Give us your gold!" they shouted. "We want the trees!"

One night, the neighbors tried to steal the trees. But every time they touched the leaves, the gold turned to dust!

The boy and his mother always stayed kind. Because they knew everything they had was a gift. The trees stayed strong and golden.
